DAILY DETOX DRINK: Cranberry, Apple Cider Vinegar & Lemon Juice

Daily Detox Drink

Do you need to give your body a break from all the Christmas cookies, Eggnog with Bourbon and Beef & Bernaise?

Start your day with a kickass healthy drink of Cranberry, Apple Cider Vinegar & Lemon Juice. This power drink is packed with healthy juices that boosts your metabolism into high gear, cleanses the system, and kills sugar cravings.  I learned about the Cranberry, Apple Cider Vinegar & Lemon Juice Drink drink from Dr. Eric Berg,  a popular wellness doctor and author. You can watch his video to learn about the science behind apple cider vinegar. (The  drink recipe is discussed at mark 10:00). I noticed improvements right away when I tried it, and now always keep a mug in the fridge ready to sip. It is especially good the next morning after eating large, heavy, fatty meals like Thanksgiving, Pasta Alfredo or an All-Pork Belly Porchetta feast. I’ve told several of my friends and family about it and they have now become converts.

Yes, Cranberry, Apple Cider Vinegar & Lemon Juice Drink is as tart as it sounds. The trick is to add ice cubes, lots of water and keep it chilled.  Dr. Berg’s recipe calls for 6 ounces of water but I usually add 10 ounces of water. I have also tried Perrier in lieu of water and find that very refreshing too.

Cranberry, Apple Cider Vinegar & Lemon Juice DrinkTo get the maximum effectiveness of this drink, you must high quality ingredients. The cranberry juice must be 100% pure juice – no sugar or other juices added. Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar comes with the “mother” in the bottle and is considered the best apple cider vinegar.  You can use the juice of fresh lemons of course. However I strongly recommend that you get a bottle of  Italian Volcano organic lemon juice, which has the juice of 40 fresh organic lemons. You can order it at Amazon.

      HI Roberta,
I am sorry to hear about your situation. I do not know if it will work for you. In your case, its best to ask your Doctor if these ingredients will have any benefit.

      All the best to you!

I am uncertain how to drink this during the day. Is it before every meal or only before breakfast? Also, do I need to increase my water intake?

Hi IIlisha! You can drink anytime, or any way to want. I have sipped it all day, and on some days I drink the glass before breakfast. It seems to work no matter when or how you ingest it. Drinking lots of water is good for detoxing so yes, increase your water intake. Good luck and thanks for following!

      Best,
      Cara

Also, it is good to rinse your mouth with water after drinking the vinegar cocktail as the vinegar can over time erode the enamal on your teeth.

Thank you David! I’ve read that too. I think diluting it in water helps.

Also, can I change the quantity? For example, if I wanted extra cranberry juiyand maybe double up on the acv?

Yes no problem. I do think too much ACV is not good so limit it to 1-2 tablespoons per day. I like pure cranberry juice and sometimes increase that too.

The recipe I got was from My Fit Foods when they were in business.
It was one tablespoon of a very, 4 ounces of unsweetened cranberry juice, one tablespoon of vitamin B-12 and the juice of half a lemon. It takes a bit getting used to because it is pretty bitter.

That is supposed to be one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Sorry for the typo.

I like the idea of adding vitamin B-12! Drinking it straight is tough. I really like diluting it with water or green tea. Everybody needs to discover what works for them. Thank you for the idea.

Need to use cranberry concentrate add are his for slight sweetening, mix concentrate with water to taste. All other cranberry juice or cranberry cocktail will add too much sugar. This is a great drink!!!

      Hi Noreen,
Yes I have done it. I added the ACV, cranberry juice and lemon juice to a pot of brewed, hot green tea. I enjoyed it but it is an acquired taste. I also used the leftover teas (since I did not drink the whole pot) for ice tea.
Let me know if you tru it and like it.

Hi, I wonder if I can make a week jug at a time and just keep it in the fridge until the next morning so that I don’t have to mix the 3 ingredients again. Will it still have the same effect or do I have to mix the 3 every morning?

Great question! Yes you can make a weekly jug! That is the beauty of apple cider vinegar and lemon juice. They are both great for that purpose. Enjoy!

I am wondering if the vinegar should be stirred up, thus including “the mother” or should it be left to settle and not use the settlings. I look forward to your response.

      Hi Laura,
You do not need to stir up the “mother” each time you use the apple cider vinegar. It won’t hurt it if you do, but it is not necessary for effectiveness. Thanks for asking!
