As one of the 16 home cooks in the 2016 Daily Herald Cook of the Week Challenge,  I am in the fight of my life to beat the amazing fireman/paramedic/firehouse chef Craig Brannan!  Today's Daily Herald Food Edition gives all the details of the contest and showcases the contestants.

You can follow the Daily Herald's Wednesday Food Edition between now and the Final Challenge in early November to get updates.

I have already completed my mystery ingredient recipe for Round 1 of the Challenge.  I was confident of the dish I submitted when I was in the privacy of my own kitchen and with just my husband as a taste tester. Now, not so much!

It is an honor to be selected as one of the 16 home cooks to compete in the Daily Herald Cook of the Week Challenge. After meeting most of the other contestants I am just happy to be included with such an amazing group of home cooks and foodies. Look for more updates on the cooking challenge between now and the finale with the Final Four, if I should be so lucky to survive that far, on November 1st!

Also want to give a shout out to Daily Herald photographer Gilbert Boucher for the photo used in the paper, and making the photo shoot fun.
