I love fresh-ground nutmeg whenever I need it for a recipe. I use in baking, especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas, always with spinach, and in some meat sauces. You can use a microplane or get a nutmeg grinder that stores the fresh nutmegs in the container. It makes it very easy and convenient to have one hand when you need it.
